🚌 Barefoot Resort Beach Shuttle
The free Barefoot Resort shuttle is one of the easiest ways to get to the beach (or Barefoot Landing) without moving your car — and Egret Run has its own stop just steps from the townhome.
Where to catch it
Stop: Heron Bay Entrance — this is the official shuttle stop serving Heron Bay & Egret Run (our neighborhood). Just walk out to the neighborhood entrance a few minutes before the scheduled time. No reservation or phone call is required for our stop (a handful of other Barefoot neighborhoods require a call-ahead, but Heron Bay/Egret Run does not).
Schedule (season)
Weekends only — April & May (through Memorial Day weekend)
Daily, 7 days a week — June 1 through Labor Day (early September)
Weekends only again — after Labor Day through the end of October
No shuttle service November–March.
Pickup times at our stop (Heron Bay Entrance)
Approximately: 9:08 AM, 10:08 AM, 11:08 AM, then a driver lunch break from 11:45 AM–12:45 PM (no run during this window), then 1:08 PM, 2:08 PM, 3:08 PM, with a final run around 3:58 PM. Please arrive at the stop about 10 minutes early — times are approximate.
The shuttle drops off/picks up at the beach at 46th Ave N & South Ocean Blvd (Public Access). The last pickup from the beach back to the resort is at 4:45 PM.
Want to be dropped at Barefoot Landing or the golf driving range instead of the beach? Just tell the driver when you board — both are available as stops upon request.

Barefoot Landing & Barefoot Resort Golf
One of the biggest advantages of staying at our townhome is that you're right in the heart of the Barefoot area of North Myrtle Beach. Barefoot Landing and Barefoot Resort & Golf are two different things located right next to one another, and both make a great destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, or a round of golf.
Barefoot Landing
Barefoot Landing is an open-air waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment complex built around a large lake, connected by boardwalks along the Intracoastal Waterway. You'll find restaurants, shops, boutiques, ice cream and sweets, live entertainment, and family attractions — you can easily spend a whole evening here without moving your car. It's about 2–3 miles / 5–10 minutes from the townhome.

Our suggestion: go late afternoon, walk the waterfront and browse the shops, have dinner at one of the restaurants, then walk the boardwalk for ice cream or dessert. Families can pair it with Alligator Adventure; couples should go around sunset.
Things to do: Alligator Adventure (reptile & wildlife park), Alabama Theatre (live music & variety shows), and the Barefoot Landing Marina, where you can watch boats along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Recommended restaurants at Barefoot Landing: Flying Fish Public Market & Grill (seafood, sushi, raw bar, waterfront), Blueberry's Grill (breakfast/brunch), Taco Mundo (Mexican/Southwestern), Greg Norman Australian Grille (upscale steak & seafood), and Crooked Hammock Brewery (casual food & craft beer). All golfers in the community have access to Barefoot Resort's four championship courses: Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye (public fee applies, book via barefootresort.omnitechgolf.com or barefootgolf.com).
Which course should you play?
• Pete Dye — the most challenging of the four, semi-private, best for experienced golfers.
• Davis Love III — our top overall recommendation; a premium championship experience without the toughest difficulty.
• Tom Fazio — a strategic, shot-making layout, great course design.
• Greg Norman — the most playable/approachable of the four, generous landing areas.
2026 pricing: Barefoot Resort rates are highly seasonal — starting rates have ranged from roughly $95–$110 in winter (Jan–Feb) up to $175–$215 in peak fall (late Sept–Oct). Always check the current online tee-time calendar before booking, as prices and specials change frequently. Barefoot regularly advertises multi-round discounts, after-3pm afternoon savings, and (in past summers) free golf for kids 17 & under with a paying adult — check barefootgolf.com for current specials and any birthday-golf promotion.
Other well-regarded courses nearby: Tidewater Golf Club (Cherry Grove, ~8–10 miles, one of the top-rated public courses in the area), Thistle Golf Club (Sunset Beach NC, ~12–15 miles, 27 holes), Grande Dunes (~10–12 miles south, premium), and Crow Creek Golf Club (Calabash NC, ~14–16 miles, great value). Compare current rates across Tidewater, Barefoot, and Grande Dunes before booking a splurge round, and consider Crow Creek or Thistle for a strong value round.
